News 【Announcement】As the post-pandemic travel situation improves, there has been a noticeable growth in the number of people from central Taiwan choosing to travel with Penghu Good Travel
Due to the impact of the pandemic, Penghu Good Travel temporarily suspended its operations from May 16th to July 31st, 2021. To understand the post-pandemic travel preferences of domestic tourists who choose to travel with Penghu Good Travel, the Penghu County Government has conducted an online questionnaire survey.

From August 1st to November 30th, a total of 652 people have taken the Ma Gong North Line and Ma Gong Lake West Line. As the local COVID-19 situation gradually stabilizes and with the issuance of stimulus vouchers and travel subsidies, the number of passengers riding with Good Travel has gradually increased. During this period, 108 visitors have filled out the questionnaire. According to the survey data analysis, the majority of visitors who choose to travel with Good Travel are from Taipei City, accounting for 26.9% of the respondents. The second highest percentage is from Taichung City at 23.1%, followed by New Taipei City at 9.3%. Comparing the survey data from August 2020 to April 2021 (where Taipei City accounted for 17% of the respondents, followed by 15.5% from New Taipei City, and 10.4% from Taichung City), it shows a growth of 12.7% in visitors from Taichung City choosing to travel with Good Travel.

In terms of age groups, the middle-aged group (30-59 years old) constitutes the main customer segment of Good Travel, accounting for 67.5% of the respondents. Among them, the highest percentage is in the 40-49 age group at 29.6%, followed by the 50-59 and 30-39 age groups at 19.4% and 18.5% respectively. Additionally, for post-pandemic travel, the proportion of young adults (20-29 years old) taking Good Travel is 13.9%, compared to 9.6% from August 2020 to April 2021, indicating a growth of approximately 4.3% in the young adult segment.

Furthermore, nearly 100 participants of Good Travel's itineraries have learned about the program through the Taiwan Good Travel Tourism Service website, Penghu Good Travel's official website, and Penghu Good Travel's Facebook page, highlighting the importance of government websites and social media as key information channels for the public.

The Tourism Office stated that based on the survey data analysis, besides consolidating the main customer base, the county government will actively expand new customer segments to create brand value and uniqueness for the Good Travel itineraries. Additionally, efforts will be made to strengthen internet marketing channels to increase exposure and visibility for Good Travel. Starting from January 1st, 2022, Penghu Good Travel will introduce community-based guided tours for the Ma Gong Lake West Line, where local residents will share stories about the local culture, aiming to enhance the quality of tourism experiences. Reservations for Penghu Good Travel are welcomed.
